1. Commitment to Privacy

VidGrab is committed to protecting your privacy. This document details how we handle information and media within the VidGrab Chrome Browser Extension context.

2. Local Execution (No Data Collection)

VidGrab performs all processing locally on your physical machine. We do **not** collect, store, upload, or transmit any data to any servers.

  • Media Capture & Mixing: All active tab and screen audio-video captures, microphone inputs, and system audio mixers run strictly inside your browser.
  • Local MP4 Encoding: Video frame rendering and WebCodecs (H.264/AAC) muxing are performed locally in a sandbox context. No recordings are ever uploaded to the cloud or shared with third parties.
  • Zero Analytics: We do not integrate tracking codes, analytics packages, or third-party cookies.

3. Local Device Storage

The extension uses Google Chrome's local storage APIs to save recording settings configurations (such as quality options, frame rates, and stream sources) and keep a history log of your completed files. This data remains on your physical disk and can be permanently removed at any time by clearing your extension cache or uninstalling the app.
